look at the state of michigan. it has very high unemployment. the city of detroit is near 19% unemployment. so when you look at those arguments, you look at right-to-work states overall have lower unemployment rates than other states, what do you think about the potentially this being a move for the positive? maybe this is something that opens up the state to more jobs? >> there is no evidence that happens. indeed what has happened productivity has risen in this country. the last decades by 60, 70% but wages have been more or less stagnant. and if workers don't have a voice, they can't better their own condition. you know, we've had a middle class that really in terms of income been stagnant. in 201090% of the income growth went to the top 1%. the top 1% needs to be talking to the 99% and representation gives people a chance to have a voice. and essentially what, it isn't right-to-work. people don't have a join a union. they don't have a pay union dues. if a majority selects a representative, essentially everybody needs to pay the cost of that representative sentation. jenna:

girl could be running out of time. rick folbaum is live in our new york city newsroom with more. >> police say the girl could die in a matter of days unless she is found and taken back to a hospital for treatment. her name is emily bracamonte, she is 11 years old, she has been getting chemo to treat her leukemia for the past month. there have been complications, she developed an infection. doctors had to amputate part of one of her arms and insert a catheter into her heart. she apparently had that catheter in when for some reason her mother norm a removed the iv. dressed her in street clothes and walked her out of the front door of the hospital last wednesday night. the catheter is the biggest certain for doctors. leaving it in too long could lead to another infection, one that could kill her they say. the girl and her mother are american citizens, the girl's mother, louis bracamonte is mexican. he has a green card. neither parent is charged with a crime at this point. police are anxious to find this little girl to get her treatment. there is speculation that the mom took her ou

of snow across parts of the northeast including here in new york city. coastal areas, new york city has been dealing with mostly areas of rainfall across our area and also the strong winds, gusting over, 30, 40 miles an hour at times. they were very strong in the overnight hours. i don't know if many of you really heard it. parts up state new york and maine we still have the heavy snow coming down. by the time the snow gets out of the northeast, we could see totals over two feet in upstate new york that is incredible amounts of from the storm. not too bad as far as travel goes in laguardia. delays averaging 30 minutes in laguardia. 20 minutes in philadelphia international. we could see some of these worsen. the storm is exiting and should be smoother days if you're heading to the malls to do returns or traveling heading back home after the holiday season. storms are coming home. winter storm warnings in effect not just because of how much snow we're looking at. when you factor in the wind you have whiteoutout conditions and dangerous conditions on roadways. some of these are in effect u

are not ordering evacuations as of this time for any parts of the city. we're making that decision based on the nature of this storm. although we're expecting a large surge of water, it is not expected to be a tropical storm or hurricane-type surge. with this storm we'll likely see a slow pile-up of water rather than a sudden surge which is what you would expect from a hurricane and which we saw with irene 14 months ago. so it will be less dangerous but make no mistake about it, there will be a lot of water and low-lying areas will experience flooding. jon:. jenna: what was he supposed to do there? if national hurricane center wasn't saying it was hurricane what was he going to do. >> meteorologists were pulling our hair out. we were saying for a week this was epic storm. i don't know what information he was going with. the fact there were no hurricane watches and warnings may have played into him downplaying it. later on he started to say this is serious situation. that was two days before the storm hit. we were saying a week before this would be a big deal. jenna: interesting to see ho
